#Bankruptcy-($8K
It is not possible to shoplift a drugstore into bankruptcy. The physics don't work.

Because most of the dollar value in a drugstore, is in the pharmacy.

Some cancer meds cost $8K a month. 10 prescriptions alone is $80,000.

Try and even picture what $80,000 worth of toothpaste looks like.

I'm confused. What exactly is this verbal spat about?

I'll grant the $8K fact. But that means millions of families have next to nothing in the bank. And families with $10-20K "in the bank" often have much greater financial exposure to shocks.

Millions of Americans are one event from bankruptcy.

What is it, 8k a year in Germany and the US is 13k a year in premiums and Medical Bankruptcy is nonexistent in Germany meanwhile it’s the leading cause of Bankruptcy in the US and 85% of those Bankruptcies are people with medical insurance

Canada protects executives, not workers. No severance priority in bankruptcy.

WEPP only covers $8k, and is taxpayer-funded.

The execs paid themselves $3 mil in bonuses before filing for bankruptcy. Totally legal.

Sears, Nortel, Laurentian all did the same shit.

Last year, insurance co.s made $70billion in profit, while 41% of Americans had medical debt & 600K Americans declared bankruptcy from medical debt. But Americans would rather pay $8K/yr in insurance premiums than $2K in taxes for universal healthcare cuz politicians have told us that's "socialism".

Health issues related to Long COVID, even in Canada, and WITH health benefits through work, cost me over $8k out of pocket in 2025.

And I'm so thankful that I have a decent salary so I can sort of cover that, and I won't go into bankruptcy like in the US, but it's almost 10% of my take-home pay. 😭

When I was a bankruptcy lawyer, one of the few pieces of actually helpful, nonpatronizing pieces of financial advice we had for struggling families was to change their withholdings to aim for <$1k combined refunds. People would pay interest on cards all year waiting for their big $8k check.

I don't think medical debt existed in this way before either... partly because there weren't tests that cost 8k that your doctor could easily order. I know so many people who were forced into bankruptcy for medical debt and, then, they tightened that up to prevent that escape route.

well I did buy a Trump shirt once - I believe it was marked down from about $80 to $6 - I thought it should last a while - it came apart in the first washing - the Trump Tower in West Palm Beach started at hundred of thousands per floor and after bankruptcy went for $8k per floor - UNFINISHED🤣

So what you’re saying is I just need to get into 8K more debt and then declare bankruptcy after the fest?

Sounds achievable

Being brought to the brink of bankruptcy trying to afford insurance at $8k a year with high deductibles for meds nearly made us homeless and he had traditional insurance before ACA. I fo

"Grandfathered in" didn't happen

He tried to commit suicide once over the stress it brought.

Oh Boy!!! What a great deal!!!
So instead of paying $4K in income taxes
We can pay $8K in an imaginary tax that the Orange Headed Bastard dreams up: maybe a "residency" tax for people who own homes or live in apartments. The SOB has declared bankruptcy 6 times - what does he know about economy?

Retire? Is that when you take off the old one cuz it's gone bald and you have Les Schwab put on a new one?

I know, I know. People can't seem to get that $2K more in taxes for Medicare For All is better than $8K in annual insurance and bankruptcy for a medical catastrophe anyway. 👇🏻

We on Bluesky are whining a lot but never acting. We aren't even talking about the right things. Look at this trending list and tell me "ah yes, I can see that list was generated on the 'left-wing echo chamber' during the fascist horrors of 2026."
