of course the thing is though is that their power is not indefinite and self-sustaining. in fact, once Trump is gone one wonders how much being on a network optimized to favor his bannermen and their associates will pay out

Also, there's a lot of talk about 'the post-Trump GOP' but 'post-Trump X' seems like a much bigger black box.

If Delta and the Bannermen was made today it would be nostalgia for the late 90s.

William Hartnell won another week with "Planet of Giants" but can the invading Daleks beat out "Delta and the Bannermen"? Which is the better story?

I rewatched it recently, in the hopes that I might reassess it, maybe come to like it as I did with, say, Paradise Towers or Delta and the Bannermen.
Nope, absolute dogshit.

I had to look up which serial they were in, which is how I found they weren’t in Delta & The Bannermen and Ace wasn’t in either of those serials (I’d have put money on both those things being true, bloody memory!)

“Yellow Kangs, Yellow Kangs, Yellow Kangs are best!”
The night this was first shown, I rang my best friend because I couldn’t wait for school next day to say how great it was.
Witty, brilliant, still a favourite (certainly my fave DW of 1987, probably even through 1988 as well, heretically).

Had fun doing some tier lists for classic Doctor Who.
I only have fragmentary experience with lost episodes, so I filed those away into their own tier for 1st and 2nd Doctor.

I've never personally been a huge fan of the McCoy era, it's tonally confusing at times. I still can't stand Delta and the Bannermen 🫤

Kangxi watched as Oboi returned from a trip, his face stern as he took in the sight of the young bannermen quartered in the palace, their laughter and shouts echoing through the halls.

A lindwyrm erupted in your kingdom. It grew rapidly, and dozens of your greatest Mage-Knights died. This dungeon had declared war, so you prepared for war. You rallied your bannermen. You sent envoys to your allies. You were ready to fight.
You had already lost.

I may occasionally indulge in some light Delta and the Bannermen for recreational purposes, but I'm sufficiently educated to know the dangers.
