Barlinnie prison had a similar wing decades ago, specifically for the most dangerous violent and truculent men. It had amazing results. It was closed down.

There should be a baseline that anyone working in senior leadership or reporting roles at NI papers from about 1998 till the Screws shut should not be fit for any position of public life. Most of them should be in Barlinnie.

Dartmoor and Barlinnie also worthy of mention.
One area where you absolutely gotta hand it to the Brits is in naming prisons.

Strangeways
Wormwood Scrubs
Wakefield
Thorn Cross

Proper hard names. Irish prisons sound like bottled water brands.
Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has died after being attacked in HMP Wakefield in Britain.
