Yes, that's right! My great aunt lived in Rilla Mill, next to the post office. I walked between Bathpool and there many times.
Ah, the joys of the A30!

Sounds lovely. My parents lived in Bathpool, on the edge of Bodmin Moor, and regularly had trouble getting out of the village in winter because it was uphill in every direction, and the ice on the roads made it impossible.

Oh right! My parents lived in Bathpool. Lots of walks up to the Cheesewring and The Hurlers.

Actually, what part of Cornwall are you from? My parents retired to Bathpool, halfway between Launceston and Liskeard on the edge of Bodmin Moor.

I'm not at all nearby, but my parents lived in Bathpool, halfway between Liskeard and Launceston, for 15 years. I know it well and support your initiative.

We jokingly have a saying that is "Orange Bath time is sacred." Sinfonia will soak in the bath every night not just because he must be clean but because he refers to it as "boiling in the bath for a while" and he soaks in his stupid large bathtub (that Sielu calls his bathpool) for pain management

Just over 40 years ago the real me nearly gets decapitated out of a set of Mark 1's headed by 40155 (Bathpool Park, Kidsgrove Bank 05/08/84). This photo was taken by the late TR Moors and old friend who left his vast collection of pics to the SVR.

The one at Bathpool Park is not mine, the others are including the one with an actual photo of my arm.

There was once a deeply unpleasant senior Werther & Weimaraner man. In Bathpool Park he could ( quite impressive really ) suck one through and drop the wrapper around every fifty yards or so

Challenged him once on this and told me it was the council’s job to clear them up

#tavQOTD MISSING HOME

Veliss misses their bathpool, their tavern and OMG they must have missed like.... At least all the season's fairs and gigs they had already accepted! 😰😱😫

Nullnuit misses her adoptive family and her 'baby' siblings. She misses her office and workshop but not the piling mail😏
#TavQOTD
What events, or things from home did your Tav/Durge miss the most while on their adventure being stolen away by the nautiloid? Festivals, milestones, birthdays, etc?

Flood Warning for River Tone from Bathpool to Ham including Ruishton and Creech St Michael, riverside properties
River levels have fallen since the heavy rain from Monday night into Tuesday. Today, Wednesday 28 January 2026, the weather has brought much less rain and this drier weather is forecast to carry on for much of tomorrow, Thursday, interspersed with showers. There is a further band of heavy rain forecast tomorrow evening, which will cause the rivers to rise again, though they are not forecast to get as high as they did on Tuesday. We are very aware that significant flooding occurred in communities such as Bathpool, Ruishton and Creech St Michael. Therefore we are keeping this Warning in force to reflect the conditions that people have experienced and keep you updated. We will keep reviewing this Warning in the coming days as necessary to reflect the weather conditions and any forecast rise in the rivers. We are closely monitoring the situation, and our staff continue to check rivers for blockages. Please stay safe and vigilant, and look out for updates to this Warning. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 29 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
