Because every Google Pixel I have owned has some sort of hardware failure within 3 years. Including Google’s own batterygate with the 4.
If you like Android and are really tired of Apple’s bullshit, pull the pin. But Google isn’t a great hardware choice.

Yeh, I can’t say ‘batterygate’ has bothered me as much as it seems to have bothered some (apart from the closing speeds and related safety issues, obviously) but the engine note drop seems particularly noticeable at Baku compared to other tracks on that long straight.

To be fair, after the debacle that was batterygate I think anytime they have a choice at faster charging or battery life, they’re gonna choose battery life.

Ever since I was tricked into upgrading from my iPhone 6s due to batterygate I decided to wait longer between new devices.
The biggest beef I have is we used to VALUE items that stood the test of time! I’m keeping my current doomscroller for as long as possible, currently 3 years and counting.

i just realized, if youtube hadn't pivoted away from being the primary way people consumed music outside their own collections, spotify would never have taken off. when was it that youtube stopped allowing playback with phone screens off (coincided unfortunately close to batterygate iirc)

reminds me of a friend who switched from iPhone to Android after feeling betrayed by "Batterygate." He never went back
