In February, I went to Pavia, Italy with these crazy people to reenact the Battle of Pavia on its 500th anniversary. Couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of friends to be there with. Noch Weiter!

#OTD On Feb 24, 1525, Habsburg forces defeated the French army at Pavia. The French launched an attack, but Spanish pikemen and arquebusiers outmaneuvered them. Francis I was captured, and France suffered about 8,000 casualties compared to roughly 1,500 on the Habsburg side.
