There is now a company called Bcomp (may be others as well) making composites out of flax grass. There are some differences (weight) but already being used in competition.

Adding to that, the IR camera would probably cost them more than it's worth to include on top of the new optical sensor & any improvements that might be made to motion control. Logically speaking it just doesn't make sense to say Switch 2 will exclude some games for BComp & still have IR lol

btw, these are some of my favorite git aliases for BeyondCompare, they might work for your difftool as well:
