That's the cellulose they talk about in grated Parmigiano cheese... read the label ! 🧀
aka anti-clogging agent

Plastic from cellulose? Maybe call it celluloid?

I think this is water based. Perhaps wallpaper glue, e.g. methyl cellulose, a polymer.

They have that: Cellulose Gum.

I hate the whole "omg shredded cheese contains wood pulp" alarmism that's been flying around lately

That "wood pulp" is cellulose, which is found in every vegetable and isn't harmful to consume at all. And it isn't put it in for the fun of it. It's to keep the cheese from sticking together

Thomas Graham (1805-69). Same guy from the gas laws, fundamental to the study of dialysis, one of the first to propose the idea that cellulose was a polymer.

Replace the Grana Padano with the kind of Parmesan that's cut with cellulose and comes in a green plastic can. We'll see how fast you receive that letter 😂

It needs to be dense packed at a higher density in walls, the same as with cellulose

“These paper batteries made from plants want to replace AA and AAA cells — Flint, the Singapore-based startup developing a fully cellulose-based paper battery, is now in production and gearing up to supply its renewable power cells to major electronics partners”
These paper batteries made from plants want to replace AA and AAA cells
At this year's show, Flint wasn't showing off just lab prototypes. The batteries running toy trains at its booth were production-grade AA and AAA cells made from...

Over three days, our @vignolinilab.bsky.social hosted a workshop dedicated to cellulose nanocrystals and the structures they can form. Researchers from different Universities and our institute came together to exchange perspectives on chiral self-assembly and structural colour.

Yes! Hopefully, there are a lot of advancements in non-petroleum (plant) cellulose and maybe mycelium or silica/ sand options!!!

And I'm glad I didn't use pre-shredded cheese. Last time i tried making it, i used pre-shredded cheese, and as a result of it having cellulose for the purpose as an anti-caking agent, it did not melt well at all

decellularized plant wall cellulose can look like this.

go look up the meat leaf experiment by thought emporium for a real example.
