BeaconDB just hit 14M WiFi networks!! 🎉 There's also been some new features implemented recently:
- automatic map updates! tiles are now regenerated every 12 hours, so you can watch your submissions brighten up the map 🗺️ 👀 - thanks @derekmorr!

BeaconDB just hit 14M WiFi networks!! 🎉 There's also been some new features implemented recently:

Just posting here to let you know that BeaconDB has been down for nearly 20 hours due to what appears to be a fraudulent abuse claim.
Someone has contacted netcup with a few MB of logs that show the IP of BeaconDB's server being used to scan ports.

Just posting here to let you know that BeaconDB has been down for nearly 20 hours due to what appears to be a fraudulent abuse claim.

Gestern sind wir einfach mal mit dem Bus durch den Landkreis gefahren, um für BeaconDB Daten zu sammeln. Und es kam ordentlich was dazu!

Thankfully some random guy on CachyOS' Github told me what to do: just uncomment the beacondb URL.

The server is back online, however any suggestions for a reliable European cloud provider would be much appreciated.
If you have Mastodon I recommend following BeaconDB over there, as that's where most of the community is.

If you're a @beacondb contributor using #neostumbler and you aren't getting any Bluetooth beacons, try going through the troubleshooter added in the recent update. You might not have the nearby devices permission enabled.
