He needed to brace his good arm on the bedrail, but he stood up like this ALL BY HIMSELF. Sunday he couldn't do that.
The aunts are pissed about the rehab I chose. We were able to get him into the only one that is post acute rehab. There aren't permanent residents, they are getting you up and out.

I had my thumb slammed on twice today in the funniest manner.
1. Extern opening a door with me also opening the same door so the handle turned, trapping my hand, and the extern swung the door very hard into me.
2. Patient woke up groggy, grabbed my hand, and slammed it against the bedrail.

(I also need to be able to occasionally eat emergency snacks in bed, the wrappers for which I need to be able to simply toss into the garbage can hanging off my bedrail, because I’m eating them to stave off/treat emergent medical issues. There is NO chance I could separate them for composting.)

My brother came over to help me rearrange & fall proof Dad's room after this week's fall out of bed -> 21 stitches. Dad has practiced w/ the bedrail he was refusing to use, furniture corners are cushioned, anti-slip rugs are down, pathways cleared in and out of the room, & it's cleaned and dusted.

Got mum a full bath this morning (still no tolerance for a shampoo) AND a mattress flip and bedding change, including trying some bedding suspenders to see if that helps with her slipping out of bed. May get new bedrail assembled later, need a break. #Eldercare
