I wrote a HITL/SITL simulator that embeds betaflight, hdzero, and edgetx.
edgetx -> betaflight -> fly brain <- vision: gaussian splats -> hdzero
This lets the fly see and pilot within a simulation driven and a human pilot can optionally operate the fly in-the-loop via a trainer radio.

He's running betaflight 4.5 now instead of inav 6 and thinks he's an airplane.
