Many so-called conservative Christians misuse Matthew 11:12 to justify hurting their enemies, taking power by force, or forcing their interpretation of Scripture onto others. That is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight” (John 18:36 KJV). THE SHADOW POINTS TO JESUS Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus were Gentile kings whom God used for His purposes. They can be understood as shadows or types pointing beyond earthly kings to Jesus Christ, the true King of kings. The shadow points to Jesus, not Donald Trump or any other earthly man. I believe conservative false prophets and false teachers are deceiving Christians when they portray Trump as a modern Cyrus or Nebuchadnezzar. In my interpretation of prophecy, I believe Trump instead fits the pattern of Daniel's boastful Little Horn and Paul's man of sin, which I understand as the Antichrist. Do not put your hope in presidents, political movements, America, democracy, or a republic. Earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but Christ's Kingdom “shall never be destroyed” (Daniel 2:44 KJV). Jesus Christ alone is King. “Scoffers and False Prophets in the Last Days” 📖 2 Peter 3:3 — “In the last days scoffers will come, following their own evil desires.” - Peter’s warning is alive today. The Church faces a new breed of false prophets — those who wave flags instead of crosses, shout politics instead of repentance, and prophesy from pride, not from the Spirit. These self-appointed “apostles” and “prophets” of the New Apostolic Reformation claim divine visions of national destiny, yet they deny the heart of the Gospel: humility, mercy, and love. They promise revival through power, not through repentance. They speak of kingdoms on earth, but not of the Kingdom of Heaven. Christian nationalism has become their altar. They preach dominion, not discipleship. They anoint politicians as saviors and call vengeance “justice.” But Peter said their words are empty, boastful, and deceptive (2 Peter 2:18). They make merchandise of the Gospel — selling prophecy, exploiting fear, and turning faith into profit. These are the wells without water, clouds without rain — loud voices with no Living Water inside (2 Peter 2:17). They scoff at compassion, mock the poor, and despise the command to love one another. They say, “God is on our side,” while trampling the very people Christ came to save — immigrants, the poor, the persecuted, the broken, and the outcast. Peter’s call is clear: “Make your calling and election sure.” (2 Peter 1:10) Not through flags or movements, but through faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, and love. Those who walk in these things will never stumble. Scoffers ask, “Where is His coming?” But the Lord is not slow — He is patient, not wanting any to perish. His judgment will come swiftly upon all who twist His Word for power.
