LuftwaffeといえばNJGも外せねえなと思ったからBf110使ったけどどうにも動きがもっさりしてるな。ブリストルとかデ ハビランド使った後だとちょっとやりづらいかな😅

What? Everything?

(In truth the comparator for the Mosquito is more fairly the Ju-88, which was also a flying Swiss army knife - both are primarily bombers, bf110 very much intended as a heavy long range fighter iirc?)

Soldiers posing with the tail section of a ZG 2 Bf110 which collided with another Zerstörer and crashed at Rye Hill, near Epping at 10:50am. Oblt. K.Muller baled out, but his gunner did not survive. Both crewmen in the other Bf 110 were killed when they baled out too low.

The Bf110 of Lt Joachim Schröder ditched off Weymouth. He was rescued by the local lifeboat, but his gunner was lost. Meanwhile, the 110 of Oblt Hans-Joachim Göring, the Reichsmarschall’s nephew, had plunged into the ground above Portland Harbour with both crew still on board

Being caught by Allied fighters in a Bf 110 night fighter in daylight could only end one way. 54 victory veteran Obfw. Heinz Vinke and his crew from NJG 1 were found by Typhoons of 198 Sqn near Dunkirk during an air/sea rescue mission on 26th February 1944, all being killed.

Fiat G.50 in formation with a Luftwaffe Bf110 over North Africa, 1941. The relatively light armament of the aircraft, two 12.7mm machine guns, along with its modest speed, would prove a disadvantage as the war progressed.

It had been believed that bombers could protect each with defensive fire during daylight raids, but this proved far from the reality. Ten Wellingtons were shot down; two more ditched short of the English coast and three crash landed. This amounted to a loss rate of 68 percent.

December 18th, 1939. 22 RAF Wellington bombers searching for German naval vessels in the Heligoland Bight failed to find any targets at sea. Turning for home, with their formation disrupted by heavy flak, the bombers were intercepted by a Luftwaffe force of 44 Bf110 and Bf109 fighters.

26th February 1937. First flight of the Fiat G.50 Freccia (Arrow), the most advanced fighter to be produced in Italy at that time. The type saw much service on all fronts with the Regia Aeronautica. G.50s were also used effectively by the Finnish Air Force against the Soviets.

Captured Messerschmitt Bf 110D 'The Belle of Berlin' on a landing ground in North Africa. This aircraft served with II/ZG76 in Iraq and was captured after crash-landing near Mosul in May 1941. It was used as a communications aircraft and later as a unit 'hack' by No.267 Squadron RAF.

Nice bit of progress: b109s clear coated, all decals on and undercarriage installed. Bf110 Matt coat, canopy mask off, fiddly undercarriage installed.

Trying something a little different. Might be too much for 72 scale.

That look you make when the 6th question ask is about the precise number of rivets on a Spitfire Mk5 when you’re talking about BF110’s.
