This is biopolitics
Like literally the current establishment line seems to be that a 24 year old is old enough to have children but not old enough to make decisions about their fertility. Old enough to sign up for the army and get maimed for king and country but not old enough to make lasting choices about their body.

I don't think 'sexy murder poetry' really accounts for biopolitics (as in, the mode of governance based on statistics functioning on the level of populations), actually, or is sufficient to account for why said tools are put to death-dealing ends.

Man, the last landlord I had that I was on a texting basis with stole my copy of Foucault's Birth of Biopolitics and ghosted me when I tried to get it back from him after I moved out

I think that's what I said. A lot of what I said is based on what Foucault said in The Birth of Biopolitics.

exposes four flightways or elemental trajectories. The drone is an existential technology – a tool for enlivenment and senescence. As such, drone power migrates between biopolitics and resistance. In doing so, drone performativity generates assemblages of human and nonhuman actants

One step away from: “So long as Iran exists they are an existential threat”

And what was it Foucault said about biopolitics, the state, and genocide/nuclear war?

(Rhetorical, I know what Foucault wrote & the excellent critiques thereof).
Breaking news: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday night that the Iranian regime must be overthrown once and for all.

So long as the Iranian regime remains standing, Netanyahu said, Israel faces an “existential threat.”
Netanyahu says U.S. and Israel must topple Iranian regime
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran posed an “existential threat” and that President Donald Trump had said he was “ready to finish the job.”

Ahana is an amazing writer on the biopolitics of disability and mental health and she deserves support!
I'm getting abdominal imaging to check for a possible liver injury from my suicide attempt. I'm also seeing a cardiologist about my muscular dystrophy. The costs of Ubers to doctors’ offices and bloodwork appointments, along with medical bills, will add up. Please chip in. ko-fi.com/ahana16698

The most putrid things are that a man who is forced to breed is "worthless stock" (that's why they execute them) and lesbians may get a pass to the fascist eyes because they can rape them and forcefully impregnate them anyway.

It's a big perverted case of authoritarian biopolitics.

🤮 Vile.....

Worth plugging @robinjames.bsky.social stuff on how the aim of biopolitics is shifting from regulation of populations to preservation and control of private lineages in relation to this, and as one explanation of the stakes of the 'panic.'
