The Heritage Foundation laid out how they were going to rescind Title IX, the law that prohibits sex discrimination in education, by first targeting trans people's participation in sport. Capitulating on the human rights of transgender people is catastrophically falling at the first hurdle.

I ended up doing it. My estimate of the motive behind various Dems' anti-trans pivots. Note that the harm this has caused is the same across all tiers; the tiering is more about whether we can reason with them and future liability.

"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."

One bit of hey, good news: if you have an baby, we now allow early vaccination at 6 months if the baby will be traveling to a place with an outbreak, or if they’re in a place with a risk of outbreak. Right now, I think “most of the Western US“ gets marked “at risk”. Talk to your Pediatrician!
