this will allow longer term autonomous & intelligent operation of robotic systems & I am particularly excited for our first deep space missions with on-device AI & likewise long-running undersea probe missions to assist with things like bioacoustics & biolinguistics research.

It works! This is a Tascam X8 audio recorder. I've hacked the firmware so you can listen to ultrasound bats around you on headphones live in stereo (and still record at the same time). Hopefully some bats around tonight so I can give it a field test #bioacoustics #bats
