Fabio: (explaining some intricate biochemistry or some nonsense at the tavern)
Dietrich, listening intently: I have to fuck you
Fabio: and so that-... you- you realise you said that aloud, yes?
Dietrich, smiling: yes, it was on purpose. Please, continue.

having a degree in biology does not make you a biologist
just like having a degree in biochemistry does not make you a biochemist; it means you took some classes, gathered some credits, and passed exams in a program for biology & biochemistry

talk to an actual biologist, sweaty

Whoa, wicked cool biochemistry of milk/microbiota glycobiology. Sharing with my milk micro peeps. Amazing work!

I got drunk once in college and spent the entire night arguing that birds are mammals. I have a PhD in biochemistry. :|

Just a little window into my life right now. I am crushing biochemistry (one of the harder undergraduate classes one can take), I have a 97 average in the class right, 2 exams in (out of 4). Today, I got another A on a biochem exam. However, GRE math makes me feel like the stupidest person on earth.

This is a beautiful piece - combining top-notch biochemistry & structural analysis to really get mechanistic insights - go read it!

That last one is far, far harder than most people realize. Especially if animal work or complex cell culture or biochemistry is involved.
