I’m immediately inclined to say Icy Blowhog. Pikmin 4 was already too excessive with clone enemies, but this was probably the most redundant of them all.

Pikmin 1’s Enemy Reel shows off all the enemies in alphabetical order, with the sole exception of the Swooping Snitchbug. Instead of being in the S’s as you’d expect, it’s right in between the Fiery Blowhog and the Goolix.
This implies it may have originally been called the “Flying Snitchbug”

The Waterwraith can actually be frozen, even while it still has its rollers. While you can use ice blast to accomplish this, you can also have an Snowy Blowhog freeze it if your timing and setup is good.

i always imagined blowhogs attacked pikmin out of fear rather than malice - you could probably reasonably train a blowhog to be somewhat of a mount/pet lol

Absolutely, the other games can have their moments sometimes, but nothing beats the consistency and specificity of 2
