I saw how Elon was willing to push antivaxxers to attack Peter Hotez and realized how much worse it would get and nuked my account June 2023. I didnt realize how much Musk would exceed my expectations in making it a nazi bar. Bluesky may not have the reach, but its a lot closer to the Twitter I knew

I'm glad I never had a Twitter account. Fakebook didn't appeal to me much either but I tolerated it. Bluesky is really cool though. I would delete fakebook if I didn't use the marketplace. Aside from that I don't post or anything on it.

This is the day I deleted my Twitter account and history. It's clear cut what Musk is all about and I don't want any part of it. It took a couple months of considering various platforms before settling on Bluesky (Threads is good but Zuck has his own problems I don't want to support).

Finally made a BlamPow account! Layout's nice, and I'm glad I can edit my B.P. bio without affecting my Bluesky one (have used apps where that happens)
Titles & author names on the homepage would be nice, but I'm sure that's a WIP for them

It is very possible(even likely) that someone who has an active account on Bluesky can dislike a politician because of their politics, and not because they are a racist or misogynist.

I'm not like, sad my opera omnia account on twitter got terminated because I didn't lose anything exactly, since it's all on bluesky still, but it's still annoying that it somehow got hit at all, considering there's literally nothing that could possibly qualify it for that

As far as Facebook, I've never had an account. I quit MySpace around 2009 as Facebook was coming into prominence but never cared enough to transition to it. Joined Twitter in 2017 shortly after Trump was elected to protest him and then Bluesky after he was re-elected in 2024.

I use Twitter now only to shitpost the White House account and occasionally my state's senators, but also my local National Weather Service site is important to me and they don't post on Bluesky. Also have a couple people I follow on Twitter who refuse to leave.

I now have almost as many Bluesky followers as I had on Twitter. Never deleted the old account, but engagement there (likes/RT/comments) is about 1/100th as much on Twitter, for identical posts.
I am way too online for my own good, and I had an unreasonably large twitter following, and I really *enjoyed* twitter for a lot of years, and yet leaving there and never looking back was maybe the easiest what-felt-like-a-big-ethical decision I've ever made.
