#BoRap
Bob Harris has just called Bohemian Rhapsody 'BoRap' on
#SoundsOfthe70s.
I last heard the song in Home Bargains or Homey B as I'm sure it's now known as.

Steve Harley beat BoRap??😔

It finishes with "His story continues," which sounds like a threat. Apparently there was a four hour cut at one point, when I assume some more nothing happened. If this does BoRap numbers (depressingly possible) then I am terrified it will be a two-parter.

Stop. Giving. BoRap. Producer. Movies.

That's the other part of this problem: these movies cannot help but be absolutely abysmal on a purely technical and creative level because you can only be so interesting when you're stymied by a checklist of label-demanded narrative beats. Michael, BoRap, Back to Black, One Love: All crap.

A long-debunked myth, I am afraid. The bed track for BoRap was recorded at Rockfield which featured the piano, bass and some drums. By the time of recording they had fallen out badly with Trident and took their recording elsewhere.

40. Sparks, This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us (April, 1974)

Hard choice between this and Bohemian Rhapsody, two songs with similar ambitions but very different executions.

I'm not sure I can argue this song is "better". I listen to it a lot though, and I rarely listen to BoRap

Great interview with Brian May of Queen in Total Guitar Magazine about creating the solo’s of Queen’s most famous songs.
Very comforting to read that he feels the same excitement and anxiety for the BoRap end solo as I always felt on stage playing that song. 😅

Lead violin, and flute, sliding snatches of BoRap into the Sailors Hornpipe, just priceless!

Eu lembro da gente fazendo um team #borap no falecido. A gente acompanhou todas as premiações.

They think it'll do the guts of a billion worldwide, in the BoRap mold. I wish I could say I thought they were wrong. I really hope they are.

Ok I've been listening through queens entire discography over the past month, and I've got five hot takes

1. I wouldn't have singled BoRap either. It was the right choice to do so, but I wouldn't have if I was the band manager.
2. Prophets song is better than BoRap
3-5. (in reply)

Watched BoRap at the proms just now on YouTube! Fine version.

@webuyrecords.bsky.social Loving the pod! On the subject of £30 12'' singles, I note Queen are selling a £30 copy of BoRap on blue vinyl via their store. They must need the money, poor loves..

my mate who knows about these things is telling me this is either Imperial Triumphant or Hedonist, and I can hear why (really!), but there is no denying we could do with a frankly ludicrous BoRap for our times. either way, it’s a Die Spitz fail.

DSMN is phenomenal, but soooo many songs. BoRap is the easy answer, but Keep Yerself Alive which started it all is my fav.

Freddie. Always Freddie.

I’ve heard better adaptations of BoRap

My first live concert was Queen at the NEC in 1984. That was basically two hours of communal singing (Queen all buggered off for a pee in the middle of BoRap and left us to sing along with a tape for two minutes) . It was absolutely glorious. I love a good live concert where I know the words!

Only BoRap kept it off #1

I knew there was an accepted abbreviation and I didn't bother to do my research before throwing together a lazy meme. I'm pretty sure BoRap is right lol
