the one internet financial community that more people should actually spend time on is the boglehead message board
Ok before I see another "market is crashing" take, here are the Top 10 DJI single day losses, as a handy guide on what actually counts as tanking.

the statistically best longterm plan is the boglehead approach, but that requires believing that capitalism is going to continue working long term. Which, you know, I can see why people may be skeptical

Want the next NIL article to be about a player who’s just like: "yeah, I just put it in an index fund... I'm a Boglehead now."

Look. I’m no investing guru. I’m a Boglehead, and a fan of CEFs in tax advantaged accounts.

But this is a setup.

Those poor dumb bastards.

i wrote about the bogleheads, because this is our moment.

(you should consider converting to the boglehead faith imo)

There’s a weird micro-phenomenon where leftist PMCs get into Odd Lots and, separately, the Boglehead investment strategy, which is funny bc the central thesis of boggleheadism—in aggregate, markets will go up over time—contradicts the central Marxist thesis that the rate of profit will fall

If everyone who invested followed the Boglehead mindset they'd all be better off.

most internet $ forums are about trying to outsmart other people. the genius of the boglehead life is that 1) you don't have to try to beat the market because 2) you can't, nor can your financial adviser, and 3) you don't have to, because index funds are basically free now. and you get to just chill

I kinda wish I'd never bothered to learn about bond and treasury markets. I'm a simple boglehead at heart, and was motivated solely by academic curiosity rather than any interest in active investing. But damn, over the last 24 hours the economic picture just got a whole lot worse.

i don't think the boglehead ideology contemplates a president intentionally crashing the markets. past performance not a guarantee of future success! but just staying cool if you've got a long time before you retire is the closest thing to a proven strategy. you won't get out/in at the perfect time

Even the "age as your bond allocation" Boglehead people are like woah, woah, woah, slow down there, Vanguard.
Vanguard suggests a 70% bond and 30% stock portfolio for the next decade, per BI

Please forgive the privileged Boomer posting, but this is why I boosted my cash position at the beginning of the idiot’s 2nd term. I’m a buy-and-hold guy (Boglehead #iykyk) so moving to cash was very out of character and frankly, taking a smell step out of the market hadn’t looked smart … until now.

I call this strategy the Boglehead.

If only I got stonks.

This is why I’m a Boglehead. Boglemaxxing. Because you can have an absolutely perfect thesis about a company and get absolutely crushed on the trade anyway by random chance.

I’m a boglehead-type guy so you won’t catch me shorting the market but let’s just say I’m increasing my bond holdings.

So I assume you're just doing index-fund / Boglehead stuff now?

For me, active investing is always like that quip about poker: "If you look around the table and you can't tell which player is the outclassed sucker, it's you."
