The problem I ultimately have with a lot of really good shows that have that kind of darkness is that I often end up hating everyone and having nothing compelling to keep me interested. Breaking Bad, Bojack, and Mad Men all come to mind immediately

Somebody's going to whine "BUT BOJACK" and yeah, BoJack is animated, but you cannot tell me with a straight face that a show like "Bob's Burgers" or "Archer" doesn't honestly belong on here, and they're nowhere to be found.
(The predictions, for the record, were that both versions of the Office would be in the top 20 even though neither belongs on the list, that "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" wouldn't be on the list at all, and that there wouldn't be any animation on the list, which I guess I technically whiffed.)

I liked BOJACK a lot, but LONG STORY SHORT is what happens when you stop trying to be clever all the time and concentrate on making a beautiful, humane, accessible, and profound work of narrative art

I did also really like Bojack Horseman, btw. But shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender influenced the way so many people tell stories. Bluey is social emotional learning for parents, and it's inescapable in today's media. And zero anime? No classic K dramas? Black Mirror, but no Doctor Who? Please.
