Bon dia!

Just when you find out about hover flies (flower flies) (Syrphidae family) & get overwhelmed, you'll photograph a BEE FLY, which is not a hover fly - even though you'll want to yell, "It looks like a dang hover fly!!" Maybe a Villa spp - a lovely bee fly (Bombyliidae family) #Inverts

"On the good looks of bee flies (Bombyliidae): I have yet to meet someone who, when first discovering one of the more hirsute species, has not let out a small squeak of pleasure. The adults will be playing their part in pollinating flowers, while the larvae feast on other immature insects."

Why don’t you put the higher category”(Diptera: Bombyliidae)” in the title like virtually all scientific journals do?

Bee fly, any insect of the family Bombyliidae (order Diptera). Many resemble bees, and most have long proboscises (feeding organs) that are used to obtain nectar from flowers.
