Anyway, turns out my Bond knockoff watch last night (Jun Fukuda's amazing 1968 effort _Golden Eyes_, itself a sequel) was perhaps prescient without realizing. Both films as well as others like them are on Criterion, and there's SO much Bondsploitation out there. A great deep dive:
