I think about Caragonne more than probably anybody else. I was so impressed by his He-Man and Nintendo comics when I was a kid and I wonder how things could have turned out. Was he just "good for a licensed children's comic" writer or could he have become more, in the fullness of time?

I think about Caragonne more than probably anybody else. I was so impressed by his He-Man and Nintendo comics when I was a kid and I wonder how things could have turned out. Was he just "good for a licensed children's comic" writer or could he have become more, in the fullness of time?
I appreciate the hustle of trying to actually make a suit that looks like a moth, but that is clearly based on a Luna Moth and not a Lymantria dispar. Given the uh unfortunate original name I'm sure she'll stick to "Skein"
Also it just doesn't look great, honestly. The mask is just weird.

I'm always fascinated by Alfred's comics history being so dictated by external factors.
- Got changed from a short portly clean-shaven guy to a tall willowy mustachoid guy as media synergy with the actor
- Got killed off because of Wertham influence
- Got brought back due to Batman 66 synergy

The tragedy of 9/11 definitely spawned some bizarre reactions. This one is pretty harmless, really.
Wish we hadn't gone into an era of xenophobia and hatred running rampant in comics though.

A note re Warren Ellis: I've seen the narrative floating around that the process of transformative justice between Warren and SoManyOfUs fell apart for reasons outside of Warren's control, sometimes with an implication that these reasons were on the side of SMOU. This is not true.
