Herne the Hunter, the #BonfireSculpture for 2024 is done.
Herne, his origin lost in the mists of time, appeas in Shakespeare's 'The Merry Wives of Windsor', I first knew him via Susan Cooper's book 'Dark is Rising'. Accounts see him haunting Windsor Great Park and leading the Wild Hunt.

Not so much progress this week on the Bonfire. Lots of us away with other commitments. Still there has been progress.

On the subject of ancient Sylvan deities - I've been to pay my last respects to the Great God Pan. Who I built back in May for a party, only for the commissioner to love it so much they kept it. It will finally will be consumed by the flames this weekend.

Fire and ice - #EastHoathly awakes to a frost this morning - the first I can remember on our weekend for a very long time. Robin Hood has lived through his last night, the next time the sun rises he will be ashes.
