i love these shitty paperback classics that you used to be able to get at books-a-million back in the day, they had lots of great titles for basically free that have those darkish pages that have incredible booksmell

In 2010 I visited a library in Gothenburg, Sweden, and was immediately hit by that wonderful booksmell. I thought, "I don't care if I can't read a single book here. This is a library, these are my people, and I am home." The first book I saw? Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. In English. 💙📚😀

I did actually used to sniff books in bookshops, as a child, to see whether they had true #booksmell. If they did, I'd silently offer the book to my brother. He'd silently nod, if he agreed.
