Private Emperor Pickersgill, 2nd Bn., Border Regiment killed in Italy 9th August 1918, aged 30. Buried at Boscon British Cemetery. He is remembered on the gravestone of his parents-in-law, John Thomas and Jemima Heywood at Lister Lane Cemetery.

When I was a kid, Yolen would come to Boscon, and she would often come to the kids' room to tell us all stories. I think I will always hear the story of the Billy Goats Gruff in her voice.
My mother, the inimitable Jane Yolen passed away this morning after a blessingly short fight with Alzheimer’s. She did not suffer, and went peacefully into the ether which, I am certain for her, will be filled with words of the most exquisite beauty and meaning.

BosCon sounded like SO MUCH FUN! Then multiple dude friends told me not to go because I wouldn't be safe.
Everybody knew. Nobody wanted to fix it. (I know this surprises nobody, but it was really the death knell of me loving that genre).
