Crazy rock has crazy friends! 🤪😁 None have the fancy botroydal hat, but they all have similar blue-gray and tan lines/bubbles. Some have clear chalcedony pockets, and dense starburst crystal patterns!

Goethite I have a love-hate relationship with.
I adore the spiky, laminar and most of the pseudomorphs, they are gorgeous, especially the iridescent/banded varieties.
Also, ochre.
But then you get the botroydal and mammillary forms, and 🤢

Topaz, on the other hand… meh.

The ice on the lakes is pushing up the beach, shrinking the hunting grounds.😔 But also cycling the rocks around so I can find new stuff when it melts!😀 I am being taught lessons in patience, which I hate.😁

This little guy is super cool! A tiny rock, around 1cm ish, that is white crystals ringed thinly in purple, and set in orange rock on one side that fades to a more purple colour on the other side (see next pic fir other side). The other side of the tiny rock, and now that I'm looking at it again, I am unsure if the orange is fading to purple, or if the purple ringing the white crystals is thicker. As the white it bigger as well, this just leaves less room for the orange. So, something like that lol A nice piece of agate, this guy has a cavity that has broken open, with the inside being botroydal. I should try to get batter pics of the inside! It also has some green and yellow, which I'm guessing is oxidized copper for the green, and I dont know what for the yellow. Other things make green too, though, so total guess. The next picture is the next piece I found, which I am also guessing belongs to this one. Here is the other piece of agate, I found it about 10-15 cm from the first piece. There is a lot more of the green a d yellow on this piece. It was also much more fractured.

Got distracted by that new tune! And Sierra Hull! Here's one pic. On the big ones, it's all woven in matrix with a bunch of chert, but you get these beautiful botroydal chunks up to softball size or so, too. It's by my Dad's and anybody can go any Sunday for free.
