He like a stake in things. Give him a refreshments concession for the new "boxpark" and I'll bet he's in 😉

Hull City: Ilıcalı details training ground upgrade, new academy venue and Boxpark desire. Nothing says Premier League ambition quite like a Boxpark. The Tigers are building the whole ecosystem, one shipping container at a time. #HullCity #PremierLeague #EFL #Football #Transfers

Shoreditch diptych: on one side the chaotic, random & accidental markings of life in a big city; on the other, the result of hours in a boardroom, massive amounts of money, endless branding exercises and market research. I know which one I prefer.

Nations League isn't a real tournament as BoxPark weren't charging £20 to get in #England

I'm not a drinker, but I'm not against people having a beer or two at the football. The only thing that would need to be considered are the knobheads who chuck lager around when there's a goal, I don't want cheap lager over me and my clothes. Boxpark wankers

FWIW I don't think beer throwing would be tolerated at most grounds. Someone would do it once and quickly regret it.

Also, VAR means almost no goals warrant unbridled celebration in the way they used to. It's a performative BoxPark thing for people who think they're being filmed.
Really interesting to see the booze ban debate flare up again today. The argument I keep seeing come up is that people (reasonably) don’t want idiots covering them with beer every time a goal goes in.

When I wrote this piece back in 2014, I barely remember this coming up as an issue.
Banning football fans from drinking alcohol in sight of the pitch is unfair
People are free to consume alcohol at cricket and rugby matches so why should they be threatened with arrest for drinking at football stadiums?

I like beer but drinking in the stands at football has to be a reluctant no

Admittedly £7.50 for a pint of Canadian piss water pretending to be Spanish might not attract the Boxpark shower nonces

Either way it’s just not going to be a fun experience the stands. #afcb

Personally I’m anti, but purely because I don’t want to get showered with beer when Arsenal score a 12th minute opener by some knobhead who thinks he’s at Croydon Boxpark.

From the dreaded Boxpark spray to exorbitant prices for awful beer, here's why I'm against Andy Burnham's proposed U-turn

Daniel Storey writes about the seven reasons why drinking in the stands will be terrible for football

Whether you agree with the policy or not, and I am broadly indifferent about it (although would be a touch concerned by the Boxpark knuckledraggers spoiling it for normal people), it is definitely not "virtue signalling". Such a ludicrous human being.

I was trying to see both sides of the ‘drinking in the stands at the football’ issue, but, having been reminded of the performative scenes at BOXPARK whenever there’s a goal, not only do I now think we should keep the ban, but we should maybe also outlaw football.

One word - Croydon BoxPark
September 24, 2026 at 3:30 PM
Alcohol allowed back in the stands would lead to a bunch of Rodney Plonkers just doing that daft "throw your pint in the air" performative wank that looked good once at a Boxpark but never again.

It's a no from me.
September 24, 2026 at 11:59 AM
People walking in and out of rows during the game to bring back trays of plastic pint pots, half of which get spilled, before they jump out of their seats to spill more, then inevitable BoxPark muppet beer throwing? That's a BIG no from me. Football isn't the same as rugby or cricket, it's a fact.
September 24, 2026 at 11:34 AM
Yeah I hate the boxpark shit !! I've had someone accidentally launch a water bottle at me and be very apologetic but even a couple of beers each time is too many for whoever it lands on right?

What's "boxpark" in this context?
September 24, 2026 at 10:24 AM
Obviously a different atmosphere, but beer in view of the pitch has made little difference to women’s games. My concern with having it at men’s games is (i) getting boxpark-style beer showers when goals are scored (not really a risk at Spurs 😭) and (ii) people coming and going to get more beer
September 24, 2026 at 10:16 AM
Up and down for 90 minutes, beer all over you when you score against Wycombe in the 12th minute, it is just going to put people off watching football. Enjoy a pint before, half time and after the game, change the punitive element of the law, but don’t bring BoxPark into our Stadiums.
September 24, 2026 at 10:11 AM
Not sure I'd personally have a relaxed approach to getting covered in beer at The Riverside when Boro scored.

That whole boxpark pint chucking culture is a massive turn off for me and I avoid those environments accordingly. Wouldn't want that forced upon me.
September 24, 2026 at 9:54 AM
They ain’t banning people for celebrating a goal and chucking pints in the air when it’s a culture of certain groups of fans. It gets lauded on the news and social media when BoxPark meffs do it.
