Alt text, because that’s what Mr. Rogers would do.

this is what it boils down to me, as someone cursed with the kind of brain that finds TikTok shorts to be infuriatingly slow-moving as compared to reading text at hyperspeed until my eyeballs dry out
I can read (and type) much *much* faster than you can speak, unless you are an auctioneer.

And get wrong answers which you lack the capacity to determine because you've outsourced your brain to a fancy text prediction engine that you've decided thinks and understands.

Trump the all-time-great subtext-to-text translator in American politics. Rotting brain just popping off random confessions like this while he can't even comb his own hair.
Trump minimizes domestic abuse during a talk at the Museum of the Bible: "Things that take place in the home, they call crime ... If a man has a little fight with the wife, they say this was a crime, see?"

I’m not thrilled that this place is shrinking but I’ll be here until they turn the lights off because text-based social media is all my brain is wired for and I cannot keep up with discord to save my life
Bluesky kinda in a weird place where its dramatically less popular than it was 2-3 months ago, but that's still dramatically more popular than it was 6 months ago.

The responses to both of these posts made me glad I was comprehensive in my alt-text, even though it was tedious to input. Also, a small part of my brain is clearly still a media reporter.

You can always make it better later

The only supercomputer you can depend on is your own brain

CNN headline "HOW TRUMP ARRIVED AT HIS STUNNING IDEA TO TAKE OVER GAZA" and the article text is just "his brain is oatmeal"

I was surprised to learn that this is the all-time most popular Effin' Birds comic over the nine year run (so far).

I am not subjecting my brain to reading this, but scanning a few keywords thru the text - Trump didn't write this. This is Steven Miller's stream of conciseness after he snorted two lines of coke, and raved directly into speech-to-text dictation.
If an elderly friend or loved one did this, you would have them institutionalized.
