The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has shared his personal ranking of five of the band's most iconic songs in a recent NME interview ahead of his upcoming solo tour across the UK and Ireland. During the interview, Flowers participated in a blind-ranking exercise where he evaluated five tracks from The Killers' discography without knowing which song would be presented next. The first track he ranked was 'When You Were Young' from 2006, which he described as a song the band is 'grateful for, still' after worrying their second album wouldn't match the success of their debut 'Hot Fuss'. Flowers explained how the song's reception gave them confidence during a challenging period for the band. He then ranked 'Human', a track he worked on in London while touring for 'Sam's Town', and 'The Man' from 2017's 'Wonderful Wonderful', which he acknowledged 'sort of saved 'Wonderful Wonderful'' but wouldn't be his top choice. Flowers placed 'Read My Mind' from 'Sam's Town' high on his list but admitted 'secretly, in my heart think 'All These Things That I've Done' might be better sometimes.' The interview concluded with Flowers discussing 'Mr. Brightside,' arguably The Killers' biggest hit, which he described as 'a song that is very much associated with the band.' He revealed the song was written in response to Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' sharing how seeing Oasis perform at The Joint in Las Vegas inspired him to create something equally impactful. The interview coincides with Flowers' solo tour across the UK and Ireland, beginning October 14 at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, with dates in London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, and concluding in Dublin on October 27. His latest solo album 'Thrasher,' released in August, has received critical acclaim, with NME awarding it a four-star review, noting it as a significant evolution in his songwriting away from The Killers' 'glitz and arena pomp.'
