Man, two years ago we were in Dublin, Ireland for 21 hours. Stumbled in to the Brazenhead, and most certainly stumbled out. 🤣 Kind of wish I had never left there.

We are in Toronto. Lots of pubs and watch parties in the city. Hemingways, BrazenHead, Cafe Diplomatico, Elephant and Castle just to name a few!

Bucket list moment
Also hit Trinity College, waved through the Portal on O’Connell St, grabbed a pint at The Brazen Head 🍺, wandered Temple Bar, and said hi to Miss Molly Malone.

The Brazen Head Hotel courtyard, Bridge Street, Dublin. Photographed here in 1965, this public house reputedly dates from the 12th Century. The National Library of Ireland. No known copyright restrictions.

A great memory from my 50th birthday, organized for me by Anju at the Brazenhead Pub 10 years ago today.

It was such a pleasure to play a few tunes with Marty Morin and the wonderful Phil Naro, sadly missed for over 4 years now.

A visit to Brazenhead Books, a secret bookshop somewhere in New York City, run by Michael Seidenberg (friend of a friend of mine). Wish I'd had the opportunity to go before Michael passed away, it looked like an amazing place. youtu.be/EO-iHlebM_0?...

Even in Limerick there are 2 pubs that claim to be oldest here, because there's at least 2 ways to claim. Oldest building that is now used as a pub, and oldest continuous use pub. And I don't feel that Sean's or Brazenhead are either of those, more "there was an old building here once"

I finished a 50 page audio drama script and the main character is partially based on the late great Michael Seidenberg, the legendary bookselker of Brazenhead Books. I am dedicating the production to his punkish ethos. Here's a story of how he kindly reached out to me when I was down and out.

Got to love the idea of a secret bookstore that comes with cocktails.

Saying Goodbye to a Secret Bookstore
When the notice of eviction came, the whole dynamic changed. All at once, Brazenhead was on borrowed time, and minor celebrities began showing up.
