Exactly, I honestly think this is why they continue to push against brexit2, they can't while SNP remain in charge, grant 1, need to grant the other, why they've tried everything to get a unioist party in HR.

I have said it previously on here but I believe the next GE will be the Brexit2 election, it will be divisive and become very nasty but it's the only way to stop Reform, I also believe support for Reform has already peaked, despite what the press/media would have us believe

We would prefer Schengen not to be a precondition because once we join it with GB we're exposed to the risk they might leave it in the future in a Brexit2. That would be catastrophic. But if other MSs want it then we'd need a binding guarantee from UKG they will never do that while parition exists.

Should the UK apply to rejoin.
It's not a UK decision any more.
The EU shouldn't readmit the UK until EU support is far stronger. Or they'll get Brexit2 a few years down the road.

It should be a binding referendum with a supermajority requirement. If UK can’t deliver that, it is not ready to join anyway. And it would create a barrier to Brexit2.

The EU look at the polls in the UK, why would they accept the UK back when Reform Ltd are currently supported by almost a 3rd of the country, do you really think the EU want to go through Brexit2. Imagine the negotiations with Farage, it would be a clusterf*ck

I'm growing increasingly optimistic that the 2029 GE will in fact be the 'Brexit2' election. The winning party will be a re-join party and the loser will be Reform and that will be the end of Farage forever, despite polling, the evidence appears to suggest 25% is a max support for right-wing racists

Yes I agree. Clever strategy from Starmer imo. PM is many things, but he's not daft. Last thing he needs is a toxic Brexit2 war while he's getting his policies embedded. Let it become obvious to the country we need to rejoin & obvious to EU we're serious, based on solid work relationship building.

You can't have a Brexit2, and justify Scotland not having indyref2.
And given both scored greater turnout than any general election this century, it'd be impossible to redo either and *not* make it obvious at least one was stuffed, without handing out free lobotomies globally.

I think that will be a common thing but that takes a long time. Cars can be easily manufactured then assembled but fruits and veg not grown in the States cannot suddenly be grown (if at all).
