I spent St Brigid’s Day up at the Bridestones mapping gulleys and peat hags with Bridestones Rewilded. In the dusk I walked in the woods. The bulbs are through and Spring is on its way.

The Bridestones chambered tomb on the Cheshire border was built sometime around 3000 B.C.E, which makes it older than the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is the only burial chamber in England to face west; perhaps back across to the Irish Sea, from where it’s builders once migrated.
