You know he's getting serious about his little-worlds when he re installs #CrazyBump (about every 4.35 years).

I've been gone for quite a while, but that's only because I was working hard!

Lex is back and ready, with brand new feetz for you!
A newly updated 3D model, made with Blender.

Enjoy! I'll be making more with it!

i'm still annoyed by "(gamename) (higherversionnumber) patch". that glquake one from 2000 with the shitty 'bumpmap' and the forced fog still fools some today

with render_texture 0 in classmodelpanel in classloadoutpanel.res vs without it (or setting render_texture to 1, only happens if a vmt used by a non-playermodel model using $bumpmap)

I very much might raise the prices, now that I'm putting a little more effort than last time, adding a special bumpmap on the models to have the light reflect it a special way, but I'll think of how much I'll increase it in the future, college started for me so I won't have time to do comms atm.

Think I'm finding an aesthetic I like for this project. Unlit shader using vertex colors for 4 texture blending (RGB) with alpha used for painting shadows.

Also included Unity's Surface Bumpmap Package (URP) to get Hex Tiling to break texture repetition.

oooo what's it look like?

atm i use reborn with kuromori arms and legs (arms on full display but using normal reborn legs under those pants) + gym bunny bumpmap

I've been using Fractal Terrains Pro for years for planets, which has the handy feature that I can do a colour map & a bump map just by pressing a few buttons:

Then you light them globally based on that noisemap as it where a sortof bumpmap. Dont use the normals of the sphere cuz that makes the illusion of themo being a unified single shape/metablob.

That’s my child Bumpmap. We don’t talk about him.

I dont think it would be, you could probbaly do some kind of bumpmap for hieght on a plane. I think thats basically how a lot of terrain generation works in 3d games

I know its not the point of the post but I hate whenever people do this they have such inconcistent focuses- yes lets do dynamic volumetric clouds and visible grass blades- the under texture will be a flat green square and the rest will be babies first bumpmap of the N64 textures

Nips beg for a bumpmap, but other then that quite-quite hot..
Good work!

love this prerendered evil chair

I think the bumpmap is triplanar mapped? either that or it's a 3D voronoi in worldspace. hard to tell through the ps2 DVD compression (let alone bsky's)

in any case the texture stays stationary and the chair rotates beneath it lmao

fuck it since i cant find an actually good vaporeon model for my project idea, ill just bodyhack something. also test render with goodra apparently the bumpmap was making goodra look weird so i got rid of it and she looks smooth. and yes goo is part of my project idea.

Made a tweak of the eye refract shader which hopefully should make it feel more like the og hl2 eyes. I tweaked the bumpmap on G-man's one so that his eyes kinda glow a little

Estelle nooo get out of there theyre turning you into a bumpmap 😭
August 25, 2026 at 12:04 AM
It's like a... chromatic abberation / bumpmap effect, somewhag, depends on what effect you used to make it
