Social work degrees should be free & come with a stipend for living because we need more people trained in social work. The job conditions suck, the pay sucks, & the burnout rate is high. And the jobs are 100% necessary & can't be technology'd away.

Someone should pay for me to get an MSW now.

Honestly, I don’t care how much you love your kids, care giving 24/7 is a burnout and there is nothing wrong with a little part time preschool. The cash payment would give stay at home parents the option.

Right? I need to avoid social media cause my mental health is bad from burnout, but I also don't have a lot of outlets to vent and don't want to call friends only to vent. I don't want to be that person

Part of me wondered if I did have migraines, but I know me better than anyone else. I wanted to get away from school in whatever way, so I lied. I had undiagnosed autism and was always the "loner" kid that never made friends, and I had gifted kid burnout.

I just didn't want to be there. lol

Definitely feeling the burnout this year. Attended more cons than originally anticipated. Struggled with insomnia and anxiety. Now caring for a sick loved one. Exhausted.

Just watched the video by @kevinpowell.co about AI impact on our jobs: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aW7...

I feel like many of us might be having "AI burnout" - a new type of burnout that we in software industry didn't see before.

The analogy of moving from hand-crafted to conveyor belts seems right.

I've been considering the possibility of CFS (ME). The post exertion malaise is a huge one. But I think the problem I'm going to face is that these symptoms are the same as ones for autistic burnout, which is what we've been treating for over a year.

So I don't think anyone is going to listen.

The 48-Hour Friction Audit.

Burnout is rarely caused by the work you are uniquely gifted at. It’s the invisible accumulation of digital grunt work. Track your tasks for 48 hours: your actual art vs. the manual friction. Delegate the friction. Protect your art.

The 24/7 hustle isn't sustainable. It promises success but delivers burnout. For tech leaders, true impact comes from strategic disengagement & intentional rest. Your best work needs clarity, not constant motion....
