Also, the crew disappearing was the right thing to do. They can now get the legally required rest so they can operate the flight on to PDX. You landed at 21:05 local, & today's flight from PDX to LHR has been canceled. In order to arrive at PDX on time to become tomorrow's BA266 PDX-LHR,

I have a spare slot on my flightwall to track. I current track BNE and LHR. Can you suggest a random non-Australian airport that I can add. It needs to be a large airport. BNE is too slow at some times of the day and LHR doesn’t come alive until 3pm after their curfew..

About to take off from LHR to PHL and the pilot is giving a moving farewell speech as it’s his last flight before retirement after 40 years. And everyone’s weeping. Humanity can be not too bad sometimes.

I can absolutely confirm this. Work in the US product team for a UK travel company. Sales to US down over 40% since the rapist took charge. Every other countries sales are up. The fact that BA only have 7 flights from LHR to JFK loaded for the winter versus 12 last winter tells its own story.

In LHR we get the ground level view since our bus to the hotel picks us up from right beside the jet.
In places like FRA and LIS we sometimes park off-gate, so we get some fresh air and the impressive view.

this big thing was meant to go up to mach 3 and be bigger than concorde. can you imagine how much a ticket for this must have cost when concorde return flights cost $11,940 for a LHR-JFK return ticket in the 1990s

I was grateful that my LHR-LHR adventure from a couple of months ago turned out to only be a delay of a few hours.

lol my flight got diverted because of a medical emergency and they landed us in reykjavik in the middle of the night and deplaned us and sent us through passport control and then the crew vanished and then british airways sent us links to book an overnight hotel room but for a hotel at heathrow

I dunno. I've just status matched away from BA mostly so I can avoid LHR. Heathrow is an airport that behaves as if they have no idea why all these aircraft full of people keep arriving.

I feel for you. I fly overnight to the UK from the US west coast next Saturday and as I rarely can sleep on a plane, I doubt I’ll be in great shape when I get to LHR on Sunday afternoon.

Ok, here’s the plan. AMS is a mess due to days of dense fog. I’m going to Glasgow, or at least I’m trying to. I missed my KLM connection, and then a BA backup through LHR.
Now I’m booked on a delayed flight to Edinburgh, which at least gets me close. From there I can take an hour bus ride. 🤞
