cville! the school board is having a special work session tomorrow on Black student achievement. if you're worried about the achievement gap in our schools (which is way worse than the state avg!) this is a great chance to learn more, and perhaps ask why they're choosing to invest in police 🙃

We have some great resources in places like CATEC, PVCC, UVA — but it takes money and attention to stand up new programs and create talent pipelines for the employers attracted to the area

Presumably, there's a role for our schools (e.g., CATEC, PVCC, UVA, etc.) to help on the training side, but it'll likely take someone in the county and someone in the city together making it a priority and figuring out what all the things are that needs to happen to make it so
