Been using [Print Latin Script] #CATMuS Print [Large] 1.0.0, Gabay et al. (10.5281/zenodo.10592715) for the transcription of Cervantes Novels. It works great. Just one misreading in this block of text. As we develop abbreviations (within <>) it’s easy to expand them by search and replace regex.

A new CATMuS medieval model will come out in the next 15 days.
It will contain new languages (Irish, Swedish, German and Czech) as well as quite a lot of new manuscripts (Current number +134) compared to 1.6.0

My 2nd working day begins with OCR #DigitalHumanities. Here is a French translation of #MobyDick, still under copyright so that's for my use only. I scanned everything (so much fun)(no), and now I use Kraken. It works well with the CATMuS print model.

The article does say that the CATMuS and CoMMA is AI creating algorithms based on these medieval data archives. And it is a great example of how AI makes software development cheaper and allows projects like this to become feasible. Just be aware that 'AI allowed us to...' is mostly media hype.

This very preliminary review suggests, conservatively, that there could be over 3,000 errors. What happens if that corrupted data gets fed back into the model? More errors (or "hallucinations", colloquially). So what are the safeguards?
