There are also Chinese sources saying that UAE Space Agency is involved in this project, but I can't find confirmation. It's also not clear what specific kind of Earth observation satellite this SEO is, or whether it uses an Emirati satellite bus.

So apparently this contract was signed between CGWIC and the Algerian Space Agency in July 2023 for 2 Earth observation satellites, launch services, ground stations and satellite controllers' training services, i.e. there will be an AlSat 3B launching also here pretty soon.

Pour un peu de contexte, la CGWIC est la compagnie commercialisant certains lanceurs étatiques fabriqués par la Corporation CAST (CALT et SAST confondues) depuis les années 90.

Les vols de la CGWIC restent assez rares, quelques uns par année tout-au-plus.

J'ai un peu de mal à voir à qui précisément s'adresse cette pique de la CGWIC, mais c'est une réflexion qui me semble un peu opportuniste.

En tout cas, voilà un exemple supplémentaire s'il en fallait qu'il existe bien une concurrence entre compagnies de lancement en Chine...

Interestingly, CASC says that today's CZ-2D launch service was provided by the CASC Commercial Rocket Co. ; so it's not only developing the "CZ-12B" but also providing services on SAST launchers independently from CGWIC, basically "SAST's Chinarocket"
