Man, did I even see this movie?! I feel like we saw all of them at the Cinerama but holy shit I don’t remember any of this.
Anakin broke his celibacy vows, murdered an entire village of natives including “the women & the children,” & slaughtered a roomful of kids looking to him for protection. He did this all because he felt entitled to a position he wasn’t qualified for.
Perfect symbol for men of the right. No notes

My plan: I’m going to see Godzilla Minus Zero at the Cinerama and will remain blissfully unaware until the movie lets out.

Not sure if this was intentional, but the contrast of aspect ratios between the framing device and the main segment of Wes Anderson's Asteroid City (2023) reminded me of the film that helped make widescreen the default for movies, This is Cinerama (1952) with its own 4:3 black and white opening.

I read the start of your post and thought "REM" before I got to the end. I'd probably add The Wedding Present's merge into Cinerama.

Delata tu edad con una peli que viste en cine.

Y en mi caso, dos veces seguidas, porque fue en el rotativo del CINERAMA de Santa Lucía.

As annoyed as I am at Alamo right now, it's a relief that they are stepping in to save the Cinerama Dome, which is a special place, from the fate of so many other historic theaters. I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey there when I was 10 or so and it really did change my life. drafthouse.com/cineramadome

I really don't get why SIFF didn't put Wildwood up at the Cinerama, at least for one weekend
This $100m movie did $11m at the box office this weekend — feels like a significant share of that total came from Portland! :)

(The take was well ahead of box office forecasts but far, far short of what it’d need to be profitable. That’s ok. The Knights can afford to indulge themselves.)
I count 40 showings of Wildwood in Portland today and I think there were fewer than 40 seats left at all of them combined when I tried to book at noon

Absolutely.

I saw the first EARTHQUAKE in ‘74 at the Uptown Theatre in DC, one of the great Cinerama curved 70mm screen palaces. They’d installed “sensurround” woofers that they cranked to the max during the quake scenes. It was amazing and corny and inane and pure Hollywood—with Charlton Heston! 😎

And, of course, you got your BONNIE & CLYDE (Coliseum), A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS (Magnolia), THOURGHLY MODERN MILLIE (Cinerama), GRAND PRIX (Northgate), and a W.C. Fields' double-feature: YOU CAN'T CHEAT AN HONEST MAN + NEVER GIVE A SUCKER AN EVEN BREAK (Music Box).

Saw it opening night at the Cinerama Dome! We were HYPED! And then we walked out in a defeated daze, like, “What was THAT?” It was immediate.

Only Wes would think to combine the openings of both This is Cinerama and Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), and I think that's great www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcW1...
