I didn’t work on the translucency sorting/OIT part of PowerVR series 2 (eg CLX2 that’s in Dreamcast), but I was sitting nearby 😀 so I’ll try to give a semi-accurate description.
IIRC Series 2 had 5 classes of geometry: 1:Opaque,
2: punch-through (ie 1-bit alpha), 3: Modifier volumes for 1&2

Oh no. I didn't even think about the possibility of playing either one of them in the FA Cup. So Chelsea potentially 4 more times (PL/FA Cup/CLx2). City 5 more potentially (CC Final/PL/FA Cup/CLx2). Thank goodness FA Cup replays are gone.

ps. I forgot about hardware sprites which are used extensively for the glow effects and linear color interpretation between vertices (player ships), although mentioning the latter brings us to maybe not so special CLX2 feature territory ;)

I currently utilise FSAA, modifier volumes, 4 and 8bit palletised textures and vq encoded textures in combination with the, for the time, generous amounts of VRAM.
I will find a way to show of bump mapping as well.
Can you think of other special CLX2 features that should be showcased here?

I'm wondering if the PowerVR CLX2 in the Dreamcast can do triangle fans? I know it slows down on degenerated triangle strips, but what if all the even numbered vertices in this strip had the same coordinates? Would every other triangle being a little bit degenerated cause problems?

i ended up channeling my dc dev energy towards the emulator end, looking at reproducing some of the CLX2's grot; this became the PVR2 shader option in Flycast ~2019, and was superseded by the full framebuffer emulation that came later. Far less shamelessness there

i'm not surprised at the dc hacking scene by this point, after the not-calling-out-a-decomp-port-promoted-with-a-slop-song, the gratuitous-repacking-of-others-freeware-games-to-be-sold, quake piracy, CLX2 lies, one dev place admin'd by a transphobe, gamedev rugpulls, girl fight petition, etc.
