Yesterday @jamiereilly.bsky.social gave a great talk at ISTC-CNR. We learned that older adults use more concrete terms, and the greater the age gap, the less people align. Jamie told us about new ways to study conversations, also thanks to new R tools. So exciting and fun! @ballabrome.bsky.social

Today we had the pleasure of hosting @jennysaffran.bsky.social @ISTC-CNR, who gave an inspiring talk on statistical learning in language acquisition. Her research shows how children progressively “learn to understand”, rather than passively absorbing linguistic inputs.
