But for a Canadian equivalent. The United Church of Canada (which the methodists merged into) is rather categorically not considered evangelical even though they were leading the social gospel movement for decades. The lines shifted a LOT

The roof shot from game one still bothers me though. That shouldn’t have been considered a catch. If a ball hits the green monster & bounces into a players mit then it’s not considered a catch. The same should be said of any other part of the stadium. The ball was in play & should’ve been a hit.

One of my first clues as to how fucked this country was going to be in the 21st century is talking to the kids of some family friends who'd moved down South in the 80s who said that only the immigrant kids in his school did homework and considered it a form of cheating.
I fully believe that this is Wayne's culture, because it's recognizably lower class white culture of the kind that JD Vance correctly excoriated in Hillbilly Elegy. However, it's not American culture or even PMC white culture. It's just hick culture.
