CPHA doesn’t control the air…the convention center does. CPHA was very receptive to this feedback and is working with the convention center to make things a bit safer

Great session on indoor air and infection at CPHA with Prof Amy Li, Dr Raymond Tellier and Dr Mustafa Hirji. Kathleen Gadd and Dorothy Wigmore brought air cleaners and I subsequently felt safe enough to lose the respirator :)

CPHA granted intervenor status in legal challenge to Ontario's Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024 CPHA has been granted intervenor status in the legal challenge against the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, which mandates the removal of protected bike lanes in Toronto and grants the Province the power to block new bike lanes that reduce motor vehicle lanes. Even more alarmingly, the Act shields the government from liability if cyclists are injured or killed due to the removal of these bike lanes-an explicit acknowledgment of the dangers created by the law. The Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act threatens public health, road safety, climate action, and municipal autonomy. Quite a few people on my flight going to #ph25sp @cpha-acsp.bsky.social - I’m the only one in a mask 😢 on my previous flight this morning the CO2 hit 4300 ppm CO2. Rebreathed fraction of over 10%. Over 10% of each breath contained air already exhaled. /1

What was the Westray Bill (Bill C-45)? Back to top The Westray Bill or Bill C-45 was federal legislation that amended the Canadian Criminal Code and became law on March 31, 2004. The Bill (introduced in 2003 in the 37th parliament, second session) established new legal duties for workplace health and safety and imposed serious penalties for violations that result in injuries or death. The Bill provided new rules for attributing criminal liability to organizations, including corporations, their representatives and those who direct the work of others. NOTE: The Canadian federal government reuses bill numbers.
