My favorite unit of the year has begun 👏🏻 & this year’s 7th graders are making loads of progress in just a few days!
So far Ss learned how to connect motors, methods for forward & backward, and how to connect to a chassis. Can’t wait to see what this group comes up with!

Week 2 into the tri with my 6th grade CS, and they know the workflow. We have group activity, a partner discussion/activity, then hands-on, followed by an exit ticket, often with a product linked. I reply in Google Classroom after class. They respond with the sweetest notes! #csk8 #edusky

First day of Computer Science 6, and most of the kids said they didn't like computer science - including all of the girls. Every student should see themself in computer science. It doesn't have to be their fav class, but turning the dial to positive will be my mission this year. #EDUsky #CSk8

Oooh that moment when kids flash their #Microbit for the first time! We start the tri talking about what makes a computer a computer > precision, sequence & decomposition in algorithms > psuedocode > first program & flashing it (class 5). Next class = FGRTOT (exploration/discovery) #edusky #csk8

Found an Operation game circa 1965 in my mom's garage while cleaning this weekend. Shared it with my CS6 kids to illustrate games that involved completing a circuit (Microbit coding unit). Lots of sparks - and not from the old game! Glad we still had D batteries at school! #CSK8 #microbit #EDUsky
