So CubeODE works but it hates MacOS formatted SD card🤔
Probably it's because MacOS allows you to create a FAT32 partition bigger than 32GB but CubeODE hates that wanted exFAT instead.

how's the cubeode compare to the alternatives (gcloader, flippy, ???) - i seem to have entirely missed that one from bitfux

So, just for reference, assuming the AV port actually works and I don't need to replace the motherboard or what not, all I need to do is get myself a CUBEODE and I'm fine
If not, either I need to get a new motherboard (still cheaper than buying another junk cube) and then the CUBEODE

I finally bit the bullet and began the process of modding a GameCube. I ordered a junk GameCube on eBay, and in a week or so I will probs get a CUBEODE off of Ailexpress, I would order it this week but eh, I might use that money to get myself a new game instead, maybe a doctor who blu ray set

You could also completely forego the drive since it sounds dead and just install a GC Loader. Very easy mod.

Potential alternative: purchase a GC Loader (or the knockoff CUBEODE from AliExpress). While you can't keep your disk drive installed, it's a super easy install and no soldering required
It uses an SD card to boot into SWISS, then you can play all of your games freely on an SD card

Yeah, I wanted to go the FD route, but didn’t want to wait so bought a Cubeode off of Ali. It’s pretty easy to swap the drive out and then put it back later, but then you’d have two mods and one GC… so… I guess you’d have to get another GC! 😂 problem solved!

Sucks when new electronics fail. Bought a 500GB SSD for my RGH 360 & CubeODE for my GameCube.
Kept getting error E68 regardless of it being recognized as as a storage device, and kept getting a black screen on boot regardless of what SD card I use & video cables.
Both sleep & money have been lost.😒

FYI the CUBEODE is, give or take, 40-50 bucks? I didn't want to mod my existing GameCube because that requires me to remove the disc drive. Also if I ever plan on getting the GameBoy Player, I can boot the disc with Swiss from the CUBEODE

Wish the FlippyDrive would sell outside CrowdSupply. I have read the reviews on Trustpilot and a few Reddit posts and that kinda scared me off a bit.
Guess i look into a GCLoader or CubeODE. And guess i have to bid on a Broadband Adapter on JDirectItems Auctions
