social programs ACTUALLY help the economy.

1. e.g. $10/day daycare allows more people to work, esp. women who then add to the economy and pay taxes, addresses workforce shortages etc. It's been proven.

2. This is true for many other social programs.

Kids & Company, a private for-profit multi-national corporation, receives CWELCC funding.

They also allow corporations to pay to reserve spaces for employees through "corporate memberships"

This has the potential to shut lower-income families out of publicly subsidized care.

Those in the private Canadian child care sector cannot continue to argue for higher-income parents to pay more money when they are simultaneously accepting public money from CWELCC.

Where do we "find" the money? Shift it back to expansion of non-profit centres.
