I'm making arrangements for the pickup in January (need someone with a car), but besides the CRT I'll also receive several hundred floppy disks, a bagful of instruction manuals and original documentation, original packaging, and no less than three CX85 numerical keypads.
So I got an incredible early birthday gift from an old family friend. And there's more hardware and software waiting for me to pick up, including, at last, a beautiful little CRT tv!

I actually understand that!
So today I'm playing with my cx85 (totally pointless) number pad, and I got it to change the border colours by poking the registers.
It uses the joystick inputs so you can peek the register and get it to control the border.
Pointless! But I'm learning subroutines!

Looks like some folks previously made widely capable DE-9 controller adapters - 2600-Daptor D9 - but production has ceased so they're difficult to get now.
Pity; I'd love to give my MiSTer a couple of ports that'll accept an Atari CX85 keypad, an Amiga CD32 pad, a Sega Sports Pad, or an Atari mouse.
